Our Regatta River Taxi takes 40 minutes to complete one leg of its journey, from Pier 2 at the Hobbs of Henley boatyard to just beyond the starting point of the regatta course.

It’s the equivalent of a 2.5 kilometre walk.

You may want to save your legs for a long day of spectating or you might like to view the regatta from the river on which it takes place. Either way, you can avoid the madding crowd on the incredibly busy regatta towpath by taking one of our boats to and from the regatta start line.

It’s an incredibly popular service, so we recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment (and the walk)!

Where is Hobbs of Henley’s boatyard?

Our boatyard is a stone’s throw from Henley train station, simply walk towards the river from the station and you will get to us. Our address is The Boat House, Station Road, Henley-on-Thames, RG9 1AZ. You will need Pier 2 for the river taxis.

Will I see much of the regatta from the river taxi?

Using the taxi to ferry you to and from the start line is one of the best ways to view the regatta in all its glory. For a start, you don’t need to make a near 2.5 kilometre walk and you’ll avoid the towpath, which can get incredibly busy and rowdy.

From the taxi you will be able to see the whole course, and depending on when you choose to travel you might even see some racing too.
