Comfortably seating 8 guests, ‘Eighteen Seventy’ features a unique hardtop system which can be raised or lowered in a matter of seconds, offering weather protection and security for passengers. 

Throw in adjustable seating, a drinks fridge and music system and the Alfastreet is a luxurious vessel from which to enjoy all The Thames has to offer. Hire the ‘Eighteen Seventy’ with an expert skipper to cruise the Thames in true style.

Pick up and drop off is from Hobbs Boatyard only, should you want to arrange alternative locations please call the office to see if this is possible.

  • Does this boat have a toilet?

    ‘Eighteen Seventy’ does not have a toilet onboard, however there are plenty of locations you can stop at along the way. We also have toilet facilities at our main site before you depart.

  • Are there side curtains with the roof in case it rains and can the roof be removed if required?

    There are no sides however with the modern sleek design you can lower the roof on hydraulics to fully shelter yourself, the roof is fixed and can not be removed.

  • Can I bring all my own food and drink onboard?

    Yes of course! Or you can always order one of our hampers to take away any stress ahead of your day. We just ask you remove your rubbish at the end of the hire, bins are provided back at the boatyard.

  • Do you provide buoyancy aids with the hire and are they included in the price?

    Yes, all customers have access to buoyancy aids before their departure. A staff member will show you where to access these before you head off. Buoyancy aids are included in the price of the hire of the boat.

  • Can I exceed 8 passengers even if they are kids?

    Anyone over the age of 1 years old is classed as a passenger. You cannot exceed the limits on the boats, this Is bound by law.

  • Can I be picked up and dropped off at a different location?

    Yes of course! However, you cannot book this online please call the office on 01491 572035 to book this in

  • Is this boat available to hire all year round?

    It’s available to hire from April – September by the hour or by the day (10am – 5pm except at Regatta where it is 10am-6pm)

  • Can I extend my trip while onboard a skippered launch?

    This can be possible subject to availability, please ask your skipper onboard and he can contact the office if this is possible, payment will then have to be made at the end of the hire for the additional time.

  • What is the best course to do in the time I have?

    All Hobbs of Henley skippers have great knowledge of the local area and will plan the best route for you on the day subject to river conditions and traffic unless you have your own preferences.

  • Can I bring my own food and drink onboard?

    Yes, you are permitted to bring all your own food and drink onboard our skippered launches. You can also enjoy a sumptuous hamper or visit a riverside restaurant.
